DIRECTORS

Mr. Kohn is an active music educator and performer who has been the Director of Bands at Woodbridge High School for 13 years. He has led the program to nearly double in size over his tenure as well as received numerous accolades across the community and county. He currently leads the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band Courses as well as a plethora of extra-curricular activities, including the Jazz Band and the Marching Band. He proudly led the ensemble at the Swearing in of the NJ State Assembly and has had the opportunity to conduct the CJMEA All-Region Wind Ensemble on multiple occasions.

Mr. Kohn earned a BM in Music Education from the University of Delaware in 2009 and a MM in Wind Conducting from Messiah University in 2020. Jason studied saxophone with Todd Groves. His conducting teachers include Dr. Robert Streckfuss, Dr. Jim Colona, and Dr. Travis Weller, and he has attended conducting symposia with Dr. Kim Fleming, Dr. Joseph Higgins, Dr. Thomas McCauley, Professor Jeffery Grogan, and Professor Craig Kirchhoff. Beyond the band room, Mr. Kohn enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his amazing wife and beautiful daughter.
